LAB POLICIES
The Digital Media Lab (DML) is available to NC State faculty, students, and
staff for the creation and editing of digital media. The Lab offers 18 computers
-- 5 PCs and 13 Macs (Equipment).
Priority is given to projects related to university coursework and research.
The adjoining Studio offers audio-video workstations that can be reserved in
advance.
The DML itself cannot be reserved for classes or large groups. There is no
food or drink allowed in the Lab.
For other computing needs, there is a Unity lab on the second floor of D.H.
Hill Library, along with many research workstations located throughout the
building.
Copyright Restrictions
The copyright law of the United States (Title17, United States Code) governs
the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.Under
certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized
to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions
is that the photocopy or other reproduction is not to be “used for any
purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user
makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purpose
in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright
infringement.
